The tailcoat is fantastic!

Although that pic with Stephen does make me wonder if those are the only black clothes he owns (they are pretty much the same as ever Con since I started going)…

Oh, the tailcoat was a thing of beauty, you just looked so lovely and dapper wearing it!  And I’ll be working on the Dark Clerks Masquerade thingy as soon as I get a decent sleep (I think all 48 hours of the weekend should do it…).

I think it’s either he’s only got that outfit to wear, or he has an entire wardrobe full of identical black clothes…

Discworld Con

Oh, I had the best time. Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up.

Over the course of 4 days I learnt about all about swords (including the allowing of handling of edged weaponry), all about knots (I can tie a bowline!) and I learnt all about Cripple Mr Onion (all your monies is belong to us!).

I heckled Just a Minute, QI, and anything else I could get my hands on. I saw a Golem moonwalk, a dwarf rap about how we all loved big beards and we couldn’t lie, and Adora Belle Dearheart sing “These Boots Are Made For Walking”.

I danced Scottish dances with the Nac Mac Feegle, a polka with a woman in a red wig and Tonker played air guitar on an axe to Bohemian Rhapsody (and pretty much anything else played that night).

I discovered Werewolf for the first time and became madly addicted.

I released the ‘Happy Raptor Noise’ at full volume in Sator Square and then swiftly bought the glee inspiring Cheesemongers badge for my bag of badges. I am torn over the Postal Service courier bag, and I might - just might. When I get paid.

I didn’t sleep enough, didn’t eat enough, but probably drank enough, considering. I definitely danced too much. Oh, and Davina admired (profusely) my dress for the convention dinner.

I didn’t/don’t want to come back to Roundworld. Roundworld sucks (re-set the counter!)

ETA: Today has been weird. I miss it. Every time I close my eyes I can be back walking the corridors of the Hilton, but every-time I open them, boring old Roundworld impinges again. It feels funny not to be wearing my badge, I keep looking down and panicking that I’ve lost it. Time for unpacking/washing/bread making. Let the prosaic march of life go on…

I hate going back to Roundworld. Post-Con-Depression is setting in. :( DWCon 2014, where art thou?

Downtime is essential

It is essential for the con-goer to remember that in addition to catching up with friends, ensuring the bar runs dry and avoiding sleep that periods of food, water and relaxation are essential.
